Powder Ridge Ski Area - The Ridge

The 2005/2006 season will be Powder Ridge Ski Area's 46th season in operation! We're Connecticut premiere family winter destination and located in the Nutmeg Alps of Connecticut, just 20 minutes from Hartford and New Haven, and 1.5 hours from New York and Providence.

Powder Ridge is where Connecticut learns to ski and snowboard (better). We are very accessible, close and convenient to the population centers of south central CT, an easy day trip from New York and Long Island.
We pride ourselves on snowmaking and grooming so whether your back yard is white or not you can count on us to have snow. We take pride in leading the market in innovative features, including state-of-the-art terrain parks for boarders and skiers, and offer a variety of trails, including wide cruisers which are lighted for night skiing/boarding.
We offer rentals on shaped skis, snowboards and snowblades. Our snowsports school has over 100 instructors for beginners or more advanced skiers, boarders or bladers. A variety of ski and snowboard instruction options are offered, including a new "Repeat for Success" 2 day lift ticket/lesson/rental package for First Timers at $99.
In addition to a complete cafeteria in our ski lodge one can relax by the fire in our slopeside pub with great views of the slopes, day or night. Our slopeside pub is the place to be for après ski enjoyment with your friends and fellow skiers/boarders.

The Company

Powder Ridge is owned and operated by White Water Mountain Resorts, Inc., a company which was established in 1996 to upgrade the resort to a year round operation. Since acquiring Powder Ridge the company has made numerous improvements and many more are planned. Powder Ridge opened in 1959. This will be our 45 th season!  

Water Park

Since taking over Powder Ridge during the winter of 1996/1997, WWM management has sought to obtain permits to open a family oriented water park and swim club at the ski area in order to meet local demand for an upscale, highly scenic summer attraction for families. This would provide multi season operation, many job opportunities and additional investment for the winter operation as improvements would benefit both summer and winter operations. Permits initially granted by the Town had many conditions and revised permits which are more user friendly are currently being sought. White Water Mountain Resorts, Inc. is committed to providing year round recreation. Stay tuned for more details. 

SnowTubing

Snowtubing is Back for 2005. This is a 'Fun For the Whole Family' activity.
